Sturdy and reliable - crane drive manufactured by AEM
Crane drives have been built in Dessau for more than 5 decades. The tried
and tested slip ring motors with fortified rotor design and modified
dimensioning are the technical principle behind a crane drive. They may be
dimensioned for ambient temperatures up to 80°C and are still used as a
viable alternative to short circuit motors supplied by frequency inverters.
Crane drives offer high starting torques in combination with low starting
currents and a soft starting process. Due to the manageable costs, it is
possible to either replace a motor of an already existing facility or to
supply new crane drives for completely new projects.
AEM crane drives of the
RSK-series may be supplied in frame sizes 355, 400, 450 and 500 mm as 6, 8,
10 or 12 pole. Depending on size and design, these slip ring motors have an
output ranging between 75 and 1400 kW.
